The WONP-NURT Symposia are among the key Cuban scientific meetings dealing with the peaceful applications of nuclear techniques in several domains of the society. These Symposia provide an opportunity for the international scientific community to meet outstanding researchers and to discuss current trends and tasks in several areas of applied and nuclear related fields.

The International WONP had been initiated in 1994, and since 2005 has a bi-annual frequency and the NURT conferences were organized in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2006. Since 2009 the WONP and NURT conferences are jointly organized, promoting further discussion and encouraging the exchange and collaboration between colleagues of different branches of nuclear physics.

The 2013 XIV WONP-VIII NURT will be organized by the Instituto Superior de Ciencias y Tecnologías Avanzadas (InSTEC) and the Centro de Aplicaciones Tecnológicas y Desarrollo Nuclear (CEADEN) in coordination with the Agencia de Energía Nuclear y Tecnologías de Avanzada (AENTA). The conference will be devoted to the presentation and discussion of original works involving current problems in various fields of applied and fundamental research.

The WONP - NURT`2013 program will consist on oral presentations and poster sessions (4-8 February 2013). Also a preconference school will be held (January 31 to February 2, 2013).
